For nearly a decade, Browns Plains Baptist Church Car Boot Sale created the opportunity for hundreds of stall holders to sell their goods from Green Road in Park Ridge.

It hasn’t been able to run for the last couple of years but the much loved event is being relaunched by Park Ridge Connect with the first one to be held on Saturday 11 September 2021.

The team from Park Ridge Connect has been receiving expressions of interest from the community over the last couple of months.

“We’ve received good interest from people who have responded to the community notices we placed in Park Ridge News”, a PRC spokesperson said.

“So we’re getting into planning a great event to relaunch the community markets.”

The team hopes to run it just before the school holidays each term.

“What it becomes will depend on the community engagement but for the first one, we hope to include jumping castles, kids entertainment and food vans to keep the kids occupied while mum and dad stroll through the stalls”, they said.

Organisers plan to create space for both Car Boot spots (second hand goods) and Market Stall spots (food and new products) as well as space for entertainment that could include rides, games and activities. They even hope to be able to provide opportunity for local performers to come and entertain the crowds.

“It would be great to have the local school orchestras perform or dance and gymnastics groups or theatre groups or singers”, they said.
