Council improvements coming to Division 11 Jamie Furness 2021-10-30 1 min read 3 Division 11 residents are invited to attend the “Have Your Say” meeting regarding the redevelopment of Lavelle Park in Greenbank on October 31 from 8:30 – 10:00 am at Teviot Downs Soccer Club. Logan City Council division 11 councillor Natalie Willcocks said people could come in and tell her what they would like to see developed at the park. “It will be a staged redevelopment of the park so that we can accommodate more parking in there, and then put in a better playground and better facilities,” she said. A half-court basketball court, seating and shelters were among suggestions Councillor Willcocks had already received from locals in the area. Upcoming developments for Division 11 would include upgraded roads, footpaths and play areas. Footpath construction connecting Covella to Teviot Downs Park has commenced and is expected to be completed by December. Cr Willcocks said the footpath would be the beginning of linking Division 11’s currently very limited footpath network. “It has been the most requested footpath in the whole of Division 11,” she said. Cr Willcocks said there would be additional footpaths arriving in Division 11 in the future. The Logan City Council has also commenced detailed design for plans to widen Teviot Road between Middle Road (north) and Greenbank Road (south.) The upgrade would help prepare Teviot Road to safely accommodate future traffic demands. “Stage one is the roundabout on Teviot and Middle Road, and then everything else will fall in after that,” Cr Willcocks said. Everything the community is saying on Facebook, I’m advocating for. “I’m working on trying to get it in an order that makes sense and it wont grind the whole division to a halt.” For more information visit the Logan City Council Teviot Road Upgrade page.
