Greenbank social craft group “Craft, Coffee and Conversations” is a place for people of all ages to make friends and connect over morning tea and craft activities.
Club admin Jan Lia said the group met every Wednesday morning from 9am – 12pm at Middle Green in Greenbank and was open to people of all ages and craft styles.
“Anyone’s welcome to join us, no matter what craft they do,” she said.
None of the group members had previously known each other, but since joining the club they regularly did a lot of things together.
“I’ve made so many really great friends through this group,” Mrs Lia said.
“We’ll be friends for the rest of our lives – that’s how good it is.”
Each week members brought their own craft projects from home to work on, including paper craft, scrapbooking, knitting, embroidery, card-making and more.
“We love to learn new things – if anyone’s got a new craft and they come along, we’d all love to learn it,” Mrs Lia said.
The club was open to people of any age and gender, and adults with children were welcome to bring them along.
“Come along and make new friends – we’ve had a few new members join us recently.”
There would be no cost for joining the group and registrations were not essential.
Mrs Lia said Middle Green was a nice place to meet and had been very accommodating over the past 3 years since the group formed in October 2018.
“They look after us there, and they love having us there,” she said.
