For Steele the donkey: council commits to new RSPCA animal ambulance vehicle

We brought you the sad news yesterday that Steele the donkey was euthanised after suffering life threatening injuries in a car crash along Chambers Flat Rd.

Today, Logan City Council announced it would fund a new RSPCA animal ambulance as part of increased funding for the organisation in the new budget.

The RSPCA’s ambulance service was the exact one that tended to Steele in his time of need.

The new ambulance will be dedicated solely to Logan and will increase the RSPCA’s ability to rescue animals and wildlife in the city.

Over the last 12 months, the service rescued more than 3,000 sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife and animals in the whole city.

The RSPCA’s emergency team operates all hours of the day and can be reached on 1300 264 625 (1300 ANIMAL).

Council announced the funding in today’s budget rollout.
