A community meeting for 4118 locals will be held at the Logan Metro Sports & Events Centre on Thursday November 18, 2021.
The meeting will run between 6:00 pm – 7:00pm and is an opportunity for people to have their say, ask questions, and connect with the community.
There will be free food provided to those who attend including snacks, sandwiches, cookies and water.
Logan City Council division eight councillor Jacob Heremaia said it was an open-forum event for the community to voice what they wanted from their representatives and their government.
“We’ve also invited a local police officer, and my hope is that they will give us an update just like they did at the last meeting about the trends they are seeing in 4118 and in our local suburbs,” he said.
“At the last meeting people came and they talked to their local police officers and they had that connection, so that was really valuable.”
Cr Heremaia said the strong community in division eight was a credit to the great local people in the area.
“With these community meetings, none of it is possible without the local champions that we have in our community,” he said.
“I am so pleased and so proud to see how many people are passionate about the community and to see the real community spirit that we have.
“I’d just encourage local people to come to these meetings and give up a few hours of their Thursday night and come and be heard, have your say, and get involved.”
The open forum will run until 7:00 pm, Cr Heremaia said people could reach him by emailing email@example.com or connecting on Facebook any time to arrange one-on-one conversations around local matters.
