Heritage Park ninja warrior course coming 2022

Funding has been secured for an exciting new Ninja Warrior Course at Millwood Park at Heritage Park which will arrive in 2022.

Logan City Council division 8 councillor Jacob Heremaia said the course would have 10 separate challenges and obstacles that could be used by children aged 5-10, teenagers and adults.

“It’s appealing towards a huge spectrum of age groups,” Cr Heremaia said.

“It’ll be a great piece of infrastructure; it’s fun, it’s unique, it’s quirky, and it’s great value for money for the ratepayer.”

Cr Heremaia decided to upgrade Millwood Park because the location is a popular spot for families and children in the area.

This was highlighted by about 25 community members during Cr Heremaia’s mobile office meeting at Millwood Park earlier this year.

“I went back and I looked through the budget and tried to look at a way to bring a renewed focus to Millwood Park; and we had enough to secure funding to put in a Ninja warrior course, which will be a Logan-first,” he said.

“We’re building it next to the gazebo so families will be able to sit in the shelter and watch their kids safely,” he said.

The course will take up 24 x 9 meters including the underlying safety padding, and the tallest obstacle piece will reach 3.3 meters high.

The Ninja Warrior Course will be an addition to the existing facilities at Millwood Park, which already has a shaded playground, a flying fox, a grass area, and exercise equipment.
