Kings Christian College expands for 2022 enrolments

Kings Christian College is taking on a new construction project to cater for expansions at the school to meet their growing demands for 2022.

Kings Christian College marketing manager Stephen Wruck said the college currently catered for children from two and a half years old at the early learning centre and primary school students from prep to grade four.

“Our early learning centre is at capacity, so this year we’ve built two new pre-prep classrooms,” he said.

“They’ll be ready to start at the beginning of next year.”

Mr Wruck said the college also had two new classrooms for prep next year, and they already had enough applications to fill between four and five new classrooms.

“That’s just due to demand … as applications come in we expand to suit the applications,” he said.

Mr Wruck said the college’s ultimate goal was to offer classes from prep to year 12.

In 2024 Kings Christian College would start offering classes in high school for grade seven.

“Next year we’re building our first two-storey classroom block on that site,” he said.

“It’s going to have eight new classrooms, plus some shared learning spaces, offices and reception areas.

“That will be built next year and opening for students in 2023, which will then bridge into the beginning of high school.”

Mr Wruck said the new building project would likely include a tuckshop and a cafe for parents.

“We’ve got a community centre there where we have playgroups and other activities like that, so we’re looking at potentially a cafe for that too,” he said.
