King’s Market finally launches at Chambers Flat
After a year of postponed launches due to COVID-19, sever weather warnings and various other circumstances outside their control, King’s Market at Chambers Flat was excited to finally open the gates last month.
The weekly farmers market aimed at bringing the community together around great local produce and goods as well as fun activities for families, launched with a variety of stalls from all natural donuts and smoothies to candles and handbags.
King’s Market organiser, Nerise, said she was encouraged by the community turn out and the interest generated by local farmers who were looking to bring their produce to market over the coming weeks.
Martha’s Kitchen, a home-based bakery of German treats in Hillcrest, was thrilled that Logan West finally had a local markets opening up. “Home-based businesses like ours are dependent on the exposure and opportunities that markets like this provide. Add to that the enthusiasm of local buyers wanting to support local producers and what’s not too like about it?”
The growing market will also be adding to their rides and attractions section with new activities to be added in the lead up to Christmas.
King’s Market is open from 7AM-12PM every Sunday at King’s Christian College (35 Anzac Avenue, Chambers Flat). You can follow them on Facebook @ kingsfarmersmarket to stay up to date with each week’s specialties.
