Logan City Council’s 2018/2019 Annual Report has taken out the top accolade at the Australasian Reporting Awards.
The report was judged against other top-tier companies and organisations from all over Australasia. These included Wesfarmers Limited, the ABC, National Australia Bank and other South-east Queensland councils: Brisbane, Redland and the Gold Coast.
This is the first time Council has won the Report of the Year prize, after achieving five consecutive gold awards since 2015.
Mayor Darren Power highlighted that the “staff committed to providing accessible and detailed public accounts of the organisation’s activities” – resulting in a very thorough annual report.
The ARA judges recognised the report contained a “particularly challenging and difficult period” and the “open and honest” way that these challenges were reported contributed to it receiving Report of the Year.
Mayor Darren Power also states that it is a, “High honour for Logan City Council and in particular, our Business Performance Management Team”.
