Logan West Community Swimming Club
Logan West Community Swim Club is a not for profit, community-based swim club that operates from the Park Ridge State School pool during Summer (term 4 and term 1) each year. The goal of the club is to encourage swimmers young and old to increase their swimming skills, have fun and make new friends. We are a reasonably small club with 39 current swimmers aged from 4 to 17. We are closely aligned with Ken Glass Swimming who operates a swim school from the same pool every afternoon during Summer.
The club committee recently used some of our fundraising money to support 19 of our club members attending the Rackley Parkinson Sprint Meet. This was the first inter-club meet for some of the kids, and the first time in a 50m pool for some of them as well. The kids all had a great time, with many personal bests set and the following swimmers qualifying for the upcoming Brisbane Sprint Championships: Aleks, Alisha, Jayce, Lauren, Matilda, Nicola, and Zoe. In addition, Lauren and Zoe qualified for the Queensland Sprint Championships.
We hold our club nights from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday nights during terms 4 and 1. If you are at all interested in friendly competition and great BBQs then please either email the club on firstname.lastname@example.org or head to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/lwcswimclub/
The committee would also like to take this opportunity to send a huge thank you to our sponsors Billy Boy’s Butcher and Troppos Fruit Market and Deli who supply the meat, fruit, and veggies each week for our BBQs.
