Celebrating their 25th season, Logan West’s Southern Stars Baseball Club have taken advantage of some downtime to upgrade their facilities. With funding from both the Qld state government and the Logan City Council, the field now has game-ready lighting.

The Clubhouse has also had a make-over with new concrete pathways, new privacy screens to the bathrooms, and fabulous new murals on each of the four outside walls of the Clubhouse.

The Southern Stars are looking forward to the post-COVID-19 season and are well on their way to ensuring all legislative requirements are met with PPE, sanitizers and personal spacing requirements. Throughout the COVID -19 restrictions, President Andrew Gallpen has ensured that the field is maintained and looks terrific.

Thanks to the work of their great volunteers, they have been able to prepare for a (shorter) winter season from 25 July and are prepping for an enthusiastic recruitment drive. The club is working hard to attract more women to the game this season with the hope of fielding two women teams.

“We look forward to continuing working with the Logan community and developing young Stars”, said Southern Stars’ Vice President, Karen Gallpen.
