Mazda CX-30 Arrives – Ride Along with Miss World Contestant Karlee Munt
by Paul Jackson

Ready to roll

Browns Plains Mazda has launched the all-new CX-30 and it’s creating quite a buzz, so we took local Miss World contestant, Karlee Munt, along for a ride to discuss her upcoming competition while we took the CX-30 through its paces.

Born and raised in Chambers Flat, Karlee has entered the Miss World competition to raise money for children’s charity, Variety Australia. She is motivated by friends and family who have needed the kinds of services that Variety provides and looks forward to bringing attention to the good things they do.

After a quick brief on the car from our friendly sales rep, Greg, we headed off for a tour around Logan West. Karlee took control of the entertainment system, syncing her phone through Android Auto in no time (Apple CarPlay is also available) and the crystal clear Bose sound system delivered the goods.

As we cruised down the highway, the list of favorite features grew quickly: rain-sensing wipers, lane assist, radar cruise control, dual-zone climate control, sunroof, navigation, and everything easily within reach. Heading through Park Ridge, Karlee reminisced about her early years at Park Ridge State School and the fun she had growing up in Logan West. “I remember making so many friends on my street and in my area. We would ride our horses down to the ponds and spend the afternoons at the local parks.”, she said.

Weaving our way through Munruben and out to Chambers Flat, we commented on the comfort and roominess of the interior, “There’s actually heaps of space inside without it feeling like you’re driving a big SUV”, Karlee observed. “It’s great to be able to test drive this. I’ve been looking at the Mazda range for my next car.”

We stopped in at the Chambers Flat Rural Fire Brigade to take a walk around the car and agreed that it is very stylish and is bound to catch people’s attention – something Karlee is keen to do as she works towards the first qualifying competition of the Miss World series on the Gold Coast this March.

“I really hope to bring awareness to what the Variety Charity does and to the kids who need our help. I hope to bring light on their situation and make it known that everyone deserves equal opportunities in life and that we are the people who can do that for these kids. ”
