This really is a beautiful car. It’s quiet, smooth, elegant, roomy, fuel-efficient and powerful. I decided to take it for a run out through Park Ridge News’ expanded acreage distribution areas of Greenbank and New Beith.
After a quick stop in at Gloria Jeans Greenbank to say hello to Vito and pick up some snacks, I headed west down Pub Lane through the beautiful acreage blocks and new developments. I’m struck by how quiet the CX-8 is. Driving through leafy suburbs like New Beith somehow accentuates the peace and quiet.
There’s a lot to like about this car:
• 7 Seater
• Three-Zone climate control
• Bose Sound System with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
• Satellite Navigation and Adaptive Cruise Control with slow-speed stop-and-go function
• Lane-Keeping Assist and Autonomous Emergency Braking
The list of standout features is literally pages long, which may be why I got distracted and ended up winding my way out through some glorious countryside filled with rocky outcroppings and curious cows. After a few minutes on a sandy trail and a couple of dry creek bed crossings, I stopped to drink in the cool air and surrounds.
Heading back along the trail, I was aware of how well the Electronic Stability Control managed all the power of the 2.2L twin-turbo diesel engine without losing traction. The All-Wheel-Drive keeps you going in the direction you intended, even on the loose surface of unsealed roads.
As I’ve said a few times now, this really is a nice car to drive and all the room you need for your next family getaway. So drop into the team at Browns Plains Mazda and ask for a test drive and see for yourself.
