Park Ridge Water Tower to be painted orange?

Division 8’s Councillor Heremaia has sparked a flurry of interest from locals over his invitation for the community to suggest ways that a fresh paint job on the Park Ridge Water Tower could be used to reflect the local area. His social media post received scores of passionate responses from locals with suggestions including murals of the area’s natural beauty to elements of its history.

One comment from his post that provoked some reaction and seems to have stirred some residents enough to add their own ideas, was the suggestion that the tower could be painted bright orange to match the overalls of emergency services who’s new facilities are located under the water tower.

It’s not known if the suggestion was serious, tongue in cheek or a stroke of Heremaia marketing genius, but the thought of a bright orange tower standing on top of Park Ridge’s highest point has certainly engaged his audience with more than 100 comments in the first two weeks.

Of course the point of his post was to invite locals to offer suggestions on what they would like to see painted on the tower. You can make your suggestions by going to the post on Cr Heremaia’s Facebook Page @Jacob4Logan and leaving a comment or sending an email to division8@logan.qld.gov.au
