Parklands Art Students Display Their Works
As part of our series on Educational Excellence, we asked Logan West High Schools to send us some of their student’s artwork to showcase to the community.
Our first submission is from Parklands Christian College. They have chosen six fantastic pieces by students ranging from Year 8 through to 12.
Yr 8 students learnt acrylic painting techniques to create a monochromatic portrait painting relating to the concept ‘My Hero’.
Inspired by the Cubism movement, Yr 10 students created large scale collage works that explored different lenses to view and understand the world around them. Their artworks reflect on how each person sees the world differently, and how sometimes we, and others, can have a distorted view of the world.
Visual Arts in Practice (VAiP) students
In term 1, VAiP students explored the art of illustration as a powerful form of communication. They have learnt figurative and cartoon drawing techniques as well as experimented with a range of mark making tools.
