Crestmead PCYCis inviting the community to attend their Christmas carols and market stall event on Friday 17 December at Marsden State High School.
The event will run from 4-8pm and include live entertainment, jumping castles, food stalls, raffle draws and free gifts from Santa to the children who attend.
Crestmead PCYC member services officer and Braking the Cycle coordinator Joanne Bartolo said it would be greatly appreciated if people in the community could donate new or like-new gifts in advance.
“We are wanting to help Santa give out gifts to the children attending the family fun event,” she said.
“If you would like to donate any gifts wrapped with a gender label or unwrapped, we would truly appreciate your help.”
Examples of donatable gifts items could include stuffed toys, dolls, books, sports equipment, accessories and art supplies.
The PCYC is leading the way in youth services with a range of early intervention, crime prevention, personal development and welfare programs targeting youth at risk and their immediate influences in Crestmead, Marsden, Browns Plains and the wider community.
They are also seeking donations of new or like-new items, big or small, to go into their Christmas Carol raffle draws to raise funds for their programs next year.
“PCYC Crestmead are seeking for kind donations, either monetary, items or vouchers to go towards the cost of improving our youth programs and activities and also our free Community yearly event,” Joanne Bartolo said.
All donations for gifts and raffle items can be dropped off at the PCYC reception located at Crestmead Community Park, or they can be collected by calling 3805 4100 no later than Friday 10 December.
Last year’s PCYC Crestmead Christmas Carols and market event was attended by 600 people, and the event has been moved outdoors to allow for more than 1000 guests.
