During these unprecedented times, we have taken the opportunity to do some work on the grounds. Our major project has been to upgrade the field lighting in our junior fields. These lights will improve the training environment and the safety of our players and coaches.
With restrictions being lifted, the club is dedicated to implementing all Covid-19 safety precautions as we resume training and complete our 2020 season much later than usual. This brings a new normal to our training routines and future game days. We have missed our players and their families and the socializing and the camaraderie that the season brings.
As we celebrated National Volunteer Week in May, Cannon Logistics and Football Brisbane selected two of our young volunteers as their Volunteers of the Week. Hannah Smart and Olivia Ibanez-Vasquez have been volunteering with the club for years. The girls have family members who play for the club, so they are always helping out around the club, in the canteen, at senior functions and games, and even manning the BBQ at fundraiser events. So it was certainly very exciting for them to get some recognition for their efforts.
