Park Ridge State High School deputy principal Craig McBrien said the police hampers were a great initiative.

“It really supports families that may be struggling or don’t necessarily have as much as other families have for Christmas,” he said.

“We’d like to thank the Browns Plains Police for thinking of those people in need.

It’s been tough obviously over the last couple of years with Covid, so for them to come out and give back to the community like they have is something that’s really inspirational.

“I know that the people that receive those gifts will really benefit from it.”

Regents Park State School acting principal Emma Cairns said the hampers would have a significant impact on how the students viewed the upcoming festive season knowing there were people and communities that cared.

“Regents Park State School would like to extend their gratitude to the local QPS for their overwhelming generosity in providing 4 hampers for others less fortunate in our community,” she said.

“This generous act of kindness just goes to show that despite all the hardships and challenges 2021 has brought, community spirit is larger than life.”

Senior Sergeant Michael Leafe said it was a great opportunity to catch up with the local schools.

“We hope everyone loves their hampers and enjoys a safe and happy Christmas,” he said.

The hampers were put together by Browns Plains Police Blue Light Disco Association volunteers Danielle White, Bryan White, Jorja White, and Maddi White.
