State Member for Logan Linus Power has welcomed the Federal Government’s decision to recognize the Mount Lindesay Highway as part of the National Road Transport Network.
“I’ve been calling for this, along with the local community, for five years. It is high time that the Federal Government pulls its weight on the Mount Lindesay.
“The Federal LNP made no contribution to the four-laning in Park Ridge South, nothing to the South Maclean service roads and intersection upgrade, nothing to the raised bridge and four-laning over the Jimboomba Creek and nothing to the Camp Cable road intersection.
“The Federal Government has short-changed Mount Lindesay drivers in the past, so this is a game-changer for the future.” Mr Power said.
Prior to the Stoney Camp to Chambers Flat Road project, the State Government had invested $120 million over the last five years.
“I’m glad that the Federal Government are going to match our $37.5 million investment in four lanes between Stoney Camp Road and Chambers Flat Road.
“I hope that this will continue and they will finally contribute at least 50% on future projects”.
