ENVIRONMENT
How will you navigate the tension between more people moving into the area and the needs of wildlife and the environment?
All development needs to review the impact on the natural world around us. If developments don’t meet more strict environmental conditions, they should not be permitted. “Bulldoze and be damned” isn’t acceptable any more and I will promote stronger controls to reduce the impact on nature.
TRANSPORT
What are the highest priority transport services and infrastructure you will be advocating for in your division?
Suburban bus services need review. They need to be more accessible, frequent and affordable and should connect more with Brisbane City buses and other services. Division 8 needs a connection to the Gold Coast. Improved public transport will reduce the demands for more roads. Mt. Lindesay junction at Green Road has to be improved along with Green Road as a whole. Linking Baylis Rd to Park Ridge is needed.
INFRASTRUCTURE SPENDING
What can Division 7, 8, 9 & 11 councillors do to assure more of the city budget is invested in the west?
Divisional Councillors need to identify the needs of their Divisions and ensure that they receive a fair share of the budget available whilst also being aware of the greater needs of the City as a whole. Residents and businesses in the area need to work with their elected Councillors to make sure that their needs and wants are known so that Councillors can advocate for them in Council.

What do you think is the most important issue facing your division and how will you respond to it?
Whilst salaries and wages haven't increased significantly over recent years, Rates (including water) have continued to rise while there is a perceived reduction in services and quality. My goal will be to get the best return on the Rates we all pay: improved efficiency, reduced duplication, reduced wastage. I want LCC Administration and Council to be more transparent and accountable for its spend and demonstrate its return on investment.
GENERAL
What is one thing you’d like to achieve during your first term as councillor?
The trust of those who elected me. To be true to my word, honest, transparent and promoting improved efficiencies for our Rate $$$. I’d like to implement schemes that provide revenue for Council without causing Rates to rise, e.g. Logan Greening, which reduces Council spending on landscaping and improves our environment.
GENERAL
How can residents in your division be involved and empowered to solve local problems together with council?
I would like to hold local Consulting Group meetings within the Division to gather more information, and updated views, on the work of Council and the needs and wants of local residents and businesses. I would encourage everyone to speak up about those things that concern them and work with them to identify methods to resolve issues.

What qualities, experience or skills make you stand out as a candidate?
I have a wealth of life experience, having lived and worked in various countries across the globe. I am a professional person, started my own business in Logan and enjoy living and working with the local community. I like to help people improve themselves by equipping them with the tools, experience and introductions they need to help them grow.
PERSONAL
How were you involved in your division prior to announcing your candidacy?
I have helped to develop local business networking groups, petitioned Council to make changes to local roads, worked with Council to develop ideas to save money and achieve better value for money from Rates income. I support and work with local youth organisations to help disadvantaged young people to gain work experience and, eventually, gain a job. My business focuses on helping new small businesses to gain a presence in the digital world.
