Regents Park residents received a new Vision Christian Radio transmitter on February 4, 2021.
It would allow residents living or driving within a 5km radius to tune in to the station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 87.6 FM.
The low power transmitter was the station’s 739th frequency to air in Australia.
Vision Christian Radio chief executive officer Phil Edwards said the station would appeal to anyone who wanted a really positive alternative on the radio.
“When we establish a new service – and we’re doing it all the time across the country – it means a lot in different ways to different people,” he said.
“One of the things that people often say is that when Vision comes to their area, or they have access to it for the first time, they immediately see the distinctive difference in our approach to what we do to the media in general.”
Mr Edwards, who lives in Logan West, said he had already received great feedback and testimonials from local listeners.
Regents Park resident Kevin said that on days when he felt down, the station helped him to “focus back on God, who strengthens me”.
Nerang resident Peter said Vision was a great influence for kids, provided uplifting music, and kept him “up to date with what is happening in the world from a Christian perspective”.
Mr Edwards said eight new stations were already put on air this year.
“Over the next three years we have the ambitious goal to put on 100 new FM stations across Australia, like the one in Regents Park,” he said.
Logan West residents outside of the Regents Park radius can tune in on the following frequencies:
87.6 FM: Beenleigh, Chambers Flat, Forest Lake, New Beith and Regents Park.
87.8 FM: Springfield Lakes.
“The simplest way to access everything we do is actually via our free app,” Mr Edwards said.
“You can read the daily devotions, there’s a whole heap of podcasts you can listen to, articles, news, there’s also a bible.”
