The Greenbank Gators Swimming Club have finished their 2019 club season with medals and magic! by Natalie Willcocks
We have had a terrific start to our season with plenty of our swimmers competing at different meets and achieving plenty of medals, ribbons and PBs.
As a group our swimmers have reduced their personal best times in 2 different meets recently by a total 222 seconds. This is quite an achievement for such a young club! We have had some outstanding results at recent meets from Kai Bidgood, Isla Brimble, Zahra Brimble, Jett Cervenjak, Tyger Cervenjak, Kyla Diesing, Alex Head, Madi Head, Marlon Moses, Gabi Snow-Meredith, Jade Snow-Mededith, Ruby Willcocks and Zoe Willcocks.
On the night, swimmers choose their stroke for their 50 or 25m event and then they raced some parents in a medley and freestyle relay and sprint races! We would like to thank our parent swimmers for giving it a go against our swimmers, and on the night we had ‘Nighmare’ Nicky, ‘Deadly’ John Dixon, Inger ‘The Destroyer’, Nat ‘The Champ’, Adam ‘Demolisher Diesing, Kylie ‘the Crusher’ and Kieran ‘Killer’ Wilson swim!
We had a great BBQ dinner with our ‘Super Cook’ Jonno on BBQ duty and plenty of raffle prizes given away at the end of the night. We would like to thank everyone who donated to our raffle prizes and throughout our season and a huge thank you must go to the committee members for all that they do behind the scenes, in and out of the swimming season: Inger Beulah, Tanya Brimble, Kylie Cervenjak, Jasmine Diesing, Kylie Dossell, Bec Head, Larissa Kent, Mary Kerrigan and Natalie Willcocks and to our coach Trevor Kulick.
See you on Tuesday the 28th January for our first club night of 2020!
And good luck to our swimmers who are swimming in meets throughout December and January! GO GATORS!!!
