Enriching Communities announced the four finalists for their fifth annual Greenbank Community Hero Awards 2021 on November 2, 2021.

The Enriching Communities Community Hero Awards was created to recognise people who are passionate about serving their local community.

A community hero could include anyone that contributed to their local area through acts of service who deserved to have their hard work, dedication, and love for their community acknowledged.

Enriching Communities founder Suzanne Guastini said the organisation was created to help people in new communities build friendships and connections with one another.

“We create regular get-togethers, community events, and initiatives like the Community Hero Awards so that we can help people across different interest areas come together, form new local connections and friendships and foster the all-important sense of belonging people thrive for when moving in a new area,” she said.

Ms Guastini said the focus of Enriching Communities was to support local people and local businesses.

“We’re also looking for people in that process who might be interested in starting their own groups and empowering and helping them through that process with ideas, tools, and structure,” she said.

Members of the community are encouraged to cast their vote for the people’s choice award for one of the following candidates:
