How local news differs from metro coverage
A Logan West desk keeps school sites, DA numbers and BOM tables that a metro brief will skip. That is the whole difference, and it is enough.

How a local desk decides what to put in the paper
These posts are about method: citing council, not competing with BOM during a flood, and why metro copy often misses Logan West.
Naming minors in community news — our default is no
School fetes, time capsules and “student perspectives” are part of a local file. Identifying children is not required to file them.
Why we cite Logan City Council and Queensland Government pages
In a growth corridor, unsourced “community feeling” is how false dwelling yields and false flood peaks travel. Named official pages are the antidote.
